Bühler Teams up with Givaudan to Open Plant-based Food Innovation Center

Bühler and Givaudan introduced on February 13, plans to build an Innovation Facility devoted to plant-based meals in Singapore. The center is anticipated to open later this year.

The new center, situated at Givaudan Woodlands site, shall be jointly run by the two corporations, bringing together a pilot plant that includes Bühler extrusion and processing tools and a kitchen and taste laboratory by Givaudan. Experts from both firms will probably back the center.

The Innovation Center will welcome food processing firms, start-ups, and university researchers seeking to develop novel plant-based food products.

Bühler’s gear and processing expertise combined with Givaudan’s taste, style, ingredient, and product development experience will create a unique offering and synergy that will likely be greatly advantageous to these developing new merchandise, notably when utilizing wet or dry extrusion, the companies stated.

The Innovation Facility is under development at the Givaudan Woodlands site in Singapore.

The venture will be exhibited later this year at a Protein Pavilion during Future Meals Asia, June 2-3, in Singapore. The full center opening is planned for the Q4 2020. Corporations, start-ups, and universities willing to experiment at the Innovation Center are invited to get in contact with Bühler and Givaudan’s local Singapore offices to investigate for availabilities.
